In production since 1957, the maintenance-free NEOPLAN air-suspension
system with individual front wheel suspension and a subframe rear axle has proven very successful in practice. Air dryer is fitted to the pneumatic system.

Uniform and standardised electric system with numbered cables and connections and safety plugs. Use of printed circuit and check buttons for fuse control. All fuses are located to the right of the driver's seat in an easily accessible box.
A hot water radiator is installed in the front section. Water circulation is supported by a separate electric water pump. The water temperature is infinitely variable and the system can be operated in screen defrosting mode or in leg-room heating mode or in an intermediate position. Warm air circulation in driver's and co-driver's leg room, also for demisting alongside upper part of dashboard. The air throughput of the heating system can be boosted by a 2-speed fan.
2 manually operated sliding roof lights are installed. The air duct ventilation system includes individual adjustable nozzles as well as slots towards the side windows and the isle. Constant fresh air supply is achieved by double fan units installed in the air-conditioning unit of the roof, which also serve as forced draft ventilation in case of an electrical fault. Stale interior air is extracted via the front roof section, front entrance and sliding roof lights (also when closed).
The air conditioning system is installed on the roof of the coach. The compressor is driven by the coach engine. The compact, easy serviceable unit has very short supply lines for the R134a gas.
Ventilation, cooling and heating of the passenger area is effected via the roof ducting with integrated adjustable nozzles, and ceiling ventilation slits on the isle and window sides. The operating control panel is installed on the driver's dashboard.
Modern styling of the front section due to slanting, high divided windscreen made of laminated safety glass. Windscreen designed and installed to obtain minimum wind resistance results and thereby increasing fuel efficiency.
2 large proportion windscreen wipers are installed behind protection spoiler, and do not impair driver's visibility. The three piece front energy absorbing bumper substantially reduces frontal impact. Integrated front towing hook.
The roll-over resistant rear end structure excludes the rear window. It is made of special plastic material structure with integrated reinforced diagonal steel sections. Rear window UK version optionally available as emergency exit. Easily accessible engine compartment with wide opening GRP flap is provided, and is supported by pneumatic springs. Crash absorbent safety bumpers with integrated rear towing hook.
The arched slanted Catacolor side windows are glued to the steel structure, thus ensuring a vibrationfree and roll-over resistant vehicle body construction which offers the advantages of being accident proof and easy to machine wash. This construction results furthermore in the smooth and low wind resistant body surface. Driver's side window, as well as the sliding windows at the front door are electrically heated. The window pillars are covered in matt black corrosion resistant material.
Sandwich construction covered with aluminium. 2 single part, air operated outwards opening doors with automatic safety lock on left-hand side of vehicle. Double rebate rubber seals are provided to stop draughts and the entry of dust.

1998 Cityliner cockpit with clearly arranged dashboard in glass fibre polyester design with advantageous positioning of instruments in the driver's field of vision. Tachograph and individual indicators provide good monitoring of both engine and vehicle. All switches are well laid out and easy to operate from the driver's seat. Kienzle electronic compact automatic tachograph (2 drivers), rev. counter, 3 air pressure gauges, fuel gauge, engine oil pressure gauge, engine cooling water remote thermometer, warning lamps for cooling water over-heating, oil level and cooling water level are included in the basic specifications.
